Governor Glenn Youngkin has announced a new round of appointments to various administration roles and state boards. The announcement, made from Richmond, includes appointments across several sectors such as commerce, education, health, labor, natural resources, public safety, and transportation.
In the area of commerce and trade, appointments were made to the Virginia Nuclear Energy Consortium Authority. In education, new members will serve on the boards of trustees for the A. L. Philpott Manufacturing Extension Partnership and the Virginia Museum of Natural History. Other educational appointments include positions on the Board of Regents for the James Monroe Law Office-Museum and Memorial Library and the Board of Visitors for the Virginia School for the Deaf and the Blind.
Within health and human resources, individuals have been named to advisory councils related to massage therapy, rehabilitation services for both general needs and those specifically serving people who are blind or vision impaired, as well as independent living councils. Appointments also include membership in the Virginia Health Workforce Development Authority.
Labor sector appointments focus on positions with the Board for Contractors. For natural and historic resources, there is an appointment to the Board of Visitors at Mount Vernon.
Public safety and homeland security appointments include new members on both the Advisory Committee on Juvenile Justice and Prevention and the Forensic Science Board. In transportation, appointees will join the Transportation District Commission of Hampton Roads.
The Governor’s office did not release names or further details about individual appointees in this announcement.
