Maryann Divina, a history teacher at Douglas S. Freeman High School, has been recognized as the latest “Yay of the Day” honoree by Henrico County Public Schools. Superintendent Amy Cashwell presented the honor to Divina during a recent visit to Freeman.
Adrienne Feldman, who nominated Divina for the recognition, stated, “She is so passionate about what she teaches and the kids learning. She is so caring, which provides a positive, warm and safe learning environment that nurtures students and their learning.
“She is always available to students who need extra help. She is also always available and quick to respond to parents. My daughter was in her class last year and she continues to be supportive to her and our family.”
