AECOM, the world’s trusted infrastructure consulting firm, announced today the appointment of Nathan Henderson as National Offshore Program lead in the United States. In this role, Mr. Henderson will oversee the firm’s expansion of offshore services from coast-to-coast, driving growth and facilitating integrated service delivery for projects encompassing offshore energy, offshore wind, subsea fiber optics cables, and port and harbor infrastructure.

“We’re extremely proud of our rich history in offshore wind development and marine-based planning, design, engineering, and construction for clients worldwide,” said Jennifer Obertino, environment lead of AECOM’s U.S. East & Latin America region. “As we continue to advance our Sustainable Legacies strategy, expanding our offshore wind program is vitally important. We’re thrilled to have Nathan’s expertise in this space and look forward to him playing a critical role in helping to progress solutions that ultimately lead to greener, energy-independent communities.”

Mr. Henderson has been a leader in the regional operational and national energy sectors for 25 years. Rejoining AECOM in 2020, Mr. Henderson spent the last two years leading the firm’s Offshore Wind Program for the U.S. East region. In his expanded national role, he will employ his technical background in coastal and offshore permitting to serve as a strategic partner and client manager leading environmental permitting for AECOM’s offshore wind projects.

“As our National Offshore Program lead, I want our teams to partner with clients through every stage of a project, even prior to a developer acquiring an offshore lease area,” said Mr. Henderson. “When we’re engaged early and upfront, we’re better able to advise our clients long-term and identify opportunities to make holistic, environmentally focused solutions.”

As a graduate of the University of Massachusetts Amherst, Mr. Henderson also maintains his technical credentials as a Certified Fisheries Biologist.
